Low Oil Pressure, What Is It?

An engine with low oil pressure will not fully lubricate all of the internal components. An engine that’s not properly lubricated will get damaged and eventually cause complete failure if left unchecked. My Car Is Leaking Oil

The oil light can be set off if your engine is low on oil. Some of the more normal reasons for leaking oil are:

• Oil filter not fully tightened
• Drain plug not sealed correctly
• Worn engine gaskets
• Oil filler cap is damaged

You can open the hood and look for oil leaks, even if you are not a mechanic. The engine is going to be covered in dirt, but you can spot an oil leak if you see wet, greasy spots around the engine.
